How The Internet And Technology Affects The Family and Human Social Physical Interaction

The world certainly has changed. Once upon a time when physical interaction was the norm and people would pass and say hi, hello or good morning to their neighbor or even a stranger has passed. Nearly all Hi's and hellos are expressed using technology, smartphone, tablet or computer. The thing called common courtesy has been integrated into what we now see, the walking past your neighbor along the sidewalk with your head buried in some sort of electronic device. Updating your self on the latest scoop on whichever social network you have become addicted to.
Today it seems as though people has literally interrogated themselves into their smartphones and tablets. They have signed up to social networks and are hooked into the affairs of other peoples lives and when on many occasions their own lives are being flushed down the drain. Technology has turned the world into dorsal socializing beings. All plugged into cyber-world and have no clue what is happening in the real world.
Millions of hours are spent on dating sites and social sites by adults and teens but are unaware that dog are animals that bark and bite. In other words, they are totally clueless to anything else more than the comments and post of some one telling you they painted their doll black and ask you to follow them on some social site.

Family Values Depretiated

Technology as eroded the value of family in many ways. It has consumed the children of families turning them into vanity wanting, sex needing androids. The television and internet blast garbage every single day into the eyes of our children, turning them from ice cream lovers to porn watchers. Many of these bad influences of the use of technology rest on poor parenting. Strict use of technology should be set by parents and should be monitored at all times. But there are those parents who value privacy over proper parenting. For example, a mother is on social network nightly while her daughter is deep hidden in a corner itched on dating sites and sexting, she has no interest into checking whats all the secret on her daughters phone until she becomes missing one day, then her messages retrieved from the phone company and realize she and her friend planned to hook up with guys they met on the internet. All much older than them and one even is wanted by the police. You can guess how this ended. Parents should never succumb to "demands" of children and should always know what they do online.
Deterioration of Physical Interaction and Family Communication
The mother is hooked on Social Gossip, The father is a Blogger Head, The eldest daughter is always on Dating and hook up sites. The Son is hooked on online games and the smallest daughter is simply hooked on whatever gadget she can get her fingers on. So who is setting the rules about technology use, the do's and don't of using the technology. When all is hooked into their tiny bubble, continue to see things only through their own little worlds. Many times, fathers are set with the task of setting the house rules regarding the use of technology for children which the kids may not like, but it is for their own good.

Children and School Work

Many times when technology as becomes so addictive to the child you will notice the deterioration of even the child performance in school. Here is how technology affects school performance, directly and indirectly. The son who use to be straight A shooter as suddenly discovered a brand new online gaming site. He spends hours on it on his smart phone at school during lunch break and at home locked in his room playing games when he should be doing his math home work. His father sees his deteriorating grades and notices his study time has cut drastically and his game time increases. When he is blocked from that site he becomes angry and sad and even though he is unable to play that online game, his enthusiasm has shifted from studies to online games and it will take a little bit more push to get him back into his studies.
The daughter's focus as also shift as her grades in school have dropped by nearly 30% and will continue to drop as long as she is hooked into cyber world. She is constantly hooked into messaging and always searching on a particular dating site. Her mother many times may not know that her daughters grades have dropped simply because of focus lost. When people have resources at their finger tips to use, they will use it and that includes children. Technology should be used to enhance student study experience, but the statistics show that is not so.

Decreases Our Ability To Physically Interact

You can say anything online....literally. There are so many internet macho men and internet bullies out there it is simply amazing. In today's world, people interact mostly over the internet, from Skype interviews to romantic video chats. It is quite easy to express yourself using a keyboard as anything can be types and spell checked. But how easy is it to say all that you have just typed face to face with someone. Then there are those online macho men who try to sweep online women off their feet with "copy and paste." Then they simply add delusional profiles that will get to these internet ladies. The lies written on the internet could probably circle space.

Play Ground For Thieves And Stalkers

The internet is a playground for identity thieves, child molesters, kidnappers and stalkers. Many women have met their killers online who have seen their profiles on the internet, tracked them, somehow gains physical interaction and acts like the nice guy and when trust is formed, a life is gone. Many children have also been lured into prostitution through various websites and even certain social media characters. All what is mentioned here is real and still happening, especially when it comes on to credit card data being stolen and sometimes even distributed online. There are many shady dealings and dealers in the cyber world and many lives have been affected negatively due to these Internet interactions.
